Interactive Educational System by TV

The project aims developing a new TV-based learning tool by establishing an interactive link between Technical Universities, Research Institutes and Production Companies similar with Teletext system. The knowledge provided is transmitted on air, in pseudo-random images. The user may select, and, if the sequence is already in memory is presented on screen otherwise the user wait a small amount of time to receive the sequence.

The system will allow:

• Interconnection with the PC so that the broadcasted signals may be processed by the computer as well;
• the knowledge supplier (university for instance) may receive the feedback from user/ viewer;
• based on this, almost in time interactivity, the posibility to image open asked/ answered sessions for many topics.

The system is targeting: the companies that need specialized training/ learning systems for their employees, technical universities and research institutes.

Also, this system could be used in other specialized areas: media geneal news, stock exchange, advertising etc.

In consortium countries there is no competititon ininteractive TV educational tools. UPB already have the TV infrastructure (Channel TV SIGMA) and has the opportunity to test the system. Having the ICT knowledge and manufacturing possibilities, Computerland and Microelectronica will implement the new technology at UPB TV station.
