INLOC - INnovative Technology for electro-hydro-dynamic Micropumps (EHD) with applications in Lab-On-Chip systems

INLOC - the project is following the steps for implementing a flexible and economic efficient technology for developing the rapid manufacturing of Lab on Chip Systems based on electro-hydro-dynamic micro pumps and microfluidic devices intended for rapid control for applications in industrial chemistry, in agriculture, pharmaceutical, medium quality control, etc. The new technology represent an innovative application of rapid development techniques of microproducts, techniques protected by international patents.(RMPD - Rapid Micro-Product Development). This technology has a direct effect on increasing the quality, a competitive price and product diversification specialized on client requirements.

The project implements the proposal for the European patent (DE 198 58 461 A 1) of Microelectronica for EHD micropumps. By implementing this new system, Microelectronica intends to become an active player on the new market segment of the EHD micropumps and microfluidics development, representing in the current context an unique opportunity in this approach.

Microelectronica and microTEC are the only manufacturers in the integrated microdevices area with this technology.

The main objective in this sense is the co-operation with European companies and realize competitive products/technologies, including the innovative technology for electro-hydrodynamic micropumps (EHD) with lab-on-chip system applications (LOC).
